My name is Rafa Alba, a translator, writer and language teacher currently based in Cádiz.

I have found translation fascinating because it seems to be the purest form of "listening" to an author's voice, and doing so in a respectful, open-minded and reflective way. It is a craft which requires great skill and technical ability and has the beautiful quality of building a bridge between two cultures.

My primary translation fields from English to Spanish are a reflection of my experience over the years: Pedagogy, music, cinema, social sciences, African culture and travel are among my favorites.
